FAQ β€” SponsorStack
FAQ

Your questions,
answered.

Everything you need to know about working with SponsorStack β€” whether you’re a local business or a grassroots club or athlete.

Is there any cost to join?

No. There is no registration fee, no retainer, and no upfront cost of any kind. SponsorStack earns a commission only when sponsorship is successfully secured and payment is received from the sponsor.

If no sponsor is found, you pay nothing. We only succeed commercially when you do.

How much will our club receive?

The exact distribution depends on your position within the stack and the tier of the deal secured. Your specific share is agreed and documented before you sign β€” so you know exactly what to expect before any commitment is made.

Primary clubs carry the most visible inventory and receive the largest revenue share (40% of stack income). Secondary clubs carry sleeve or training kit branding and receive 20–25%. Your exact position is confirmed in your Club Agreement before signing.

What is the difference between Primary and Secondary position?

Primary clubs carry the most visible inventory β€” shirt front, perimeter signage, and 8–12 social posts per month β€” and receive the largest revenue share (40% of stack income).

Secondary clubs carry sleeve or training kit branding and 4–8 posts per month, and receive 20–25% of stack income.

Your exact position is confirmed in your Club Agreement before signing β€” no surprises.

What if we can’t fulfil a deliverable?

Contact SponsorStack as early as possible. We will work with you to find a resolution before it affects the sponsor relationship.

Persistent non-delivery may affect renewal terms or result in removal from the stack β€” but we always try to resolve issues first. Communication is key.

Can we leave the stack if we want to?

Yes, with 60 days written notice during the contract term.

However, the non-circumvention clause means you cannot enter a direct commercial agreement with the sponsor introduced by SponsorStack for 24 months following termination. This does not restrict you from sourcing your own independent sponsors at any time.

What if no sponsor is found?

If SponsorStack cannot secure a sponsor for the stack, no obligations activate and no fees are payable. We only succeed commercially when you do.

Do we need to be a registered club?

We work with formally constituted clubs as well as individual athletes. You don’t need to be a registered charity or company, but you should have:

  • An active team or competitive schedule
  • A public social media presence
  • Be playing or competing regularly

Could a competitor club be in the same stack as us?

No. SponsorStack only combines clubs from different sports within a single stack. A football club will never share a stack with another football club.

Your sport’s commercial inventory in that region is yours exclusively for the term of the agreement.

What happens if a sponsor withdraws mid-contract?

SponsorStack pursues any outstanding sponsor payments and actively seeks a replacement sponsor within 60 days. Sponsor funds already received and held in the Client Account are fully protected β€” they are distributed to clubs regardless of what happens to the sponsor’s business.

If no replacement sponsor is found within 60 days, your delivery obligations for that category are suspended with no penalty to your club.

What does category exclusivity actually mean?

When you take a position in a SponsorStack stack, no other business in your industry category can enter the same stack for the full contract term. This is written into your commercial agreement β€” not just a gentleman’s agreement.

For example, if you’re a local car dealership, no other car dealership can appear on any kit, signage, or social post across your stack for the duration of your deal.

How much does it cost?

SponsorStack offers four annual partnership tiers:

  • Tier 1 β€” Sole Club Partner: Β£1,000/year ex VAT
  • Tier 2 β€” Regional Entry Partner: Β£6,000/year ex VAT
  • Tier 3 β€” Regional Lead Partner: Β£12,000/year ex VAT
  • Tier 4 β€” Strategic Regional Partner: Β£25,000/year ex VAT

One-off matchday slots are also available from Β£50 via the Matchday Marketplace.

What area do you cover?

SponsorStack currently operates across Scotland, with stacks being built in defined regional areas. We deliberately keep each stack geographically focused so your brand has genuine local presence rather than being diluted across the country.

Contact us to find out what stacks are available or being built in your area.

How do I know my money is being spent well?

Every SponsorStack deal includes a formal quarterly performance report covering attendance and live audience figures, social media reach and content delivery count, kit and signage compliance per club, and an overall fulfilment percentage.

No guesswork β€” verified data on reach, delivery, and compliance every quarter. Proof, not promises.

What happens if a club doesn’t deliver?

All deliverables are contractually agreed before any money changes hands. SponsorStack monitors compliance and manages all club relationships on your behalf. If a club persistently fails to deliver, SponsorStack will seek a resolution β€” including replacing the club in the stack if necessary.

You deal with SponsorStack. We deal with the clubs. You never have to chase anyone.

Am I locked into a long contract?

Annual sponsorship agreements run for 12 months. SponsorStack will initiate a renewal conversation no less than 90 days before expiry, and you must provide written notice of non-renewal no less than 60 days before the end date.

If you’re not ready for a full annual commitment, one-off matchday slots are available from Β£50 via the Matchday Marketplace β€” no contract required.

What is the Matchday Marketplace?

The Matchday Marketplace is SponsorStack’s platform for one-off sponsorship slots β€” Man of the Match awards, kit sponsorship for a single game, matchday signage, and more. Clubs list individual slots and businesses can book them directly online.

No annual commitment required. It’s a great way to test grassroots sponsorship before committing to a full partnership deal.

How is SponsorStack different from approaching a club directly?

When you approach a club directly you get a handshake deal, a logo on a kit, and very little else. No contract, no reporting, no accountability, and no multi-sport reach.

SponsorStack gives you a commercial agreement, category exclusivity, access to multiple clubs and athletes simultaneously, quarterly performance data, and a dedicated account manager who handles everything on your behalf.

We’re an agency, not a directory. We build and manage the partnership β€” you just show up.
